Da: Oggetto: Spegnimento programmato dei servizi HPC di Frascati - 8 settembre 2026 // Scheduled Shutdown of Frascati HPC Services – 8 September 2026 Data: Mon Sep 7 17:44:12 CEST 2026 A: Gentili utenti, i servizi tecnici del Centro di Frascati ci segnalano la presenza di criticità nell’impianto elettrico che serve il CED che ospita i servizi HPC. Queste criticità hanno portato ad alcuni black-out lo scorso Sabato 5 Settembre, tra cui lo spegnimento, come già comunicato, dei cluster CRESCO4F e XCRESCO. Per analizzare le cause di tali criticità domani Martedì 8 Settembre 2026 gli elettricisti del Centro Frascati eseguiranno una serie di test funzionali. Per mettere in sicurezza tutte le apparecchiature presenti nel CED a partire dalle ore 08:00 tutti i servizi HPC verranno spenti, tra cui anche i file server di AFS di Frascati. Per tale motivo saranno indisponibili le USER HOME residenti a Frascati. Al termine dei lavori, che avverrà in giornata, i servizi HPC saranno gradualmente ristabiliti. Seguiranno ulteriori aggiornamenti. Gli amministratori CRESCO/ENEAGRID ============ Dear Users, The technical services team at the Frascati Research Centre has reported issues with the electrical system supplying the data centre that hosts the HPC services. These issues caused several power outages last Saturday, 5 September, including the shutdown of the CRESCO4F and XCRESCO clusters, as previously communicated. To investigate the causes of these issues, the electricians at the Frascati Research Centre will carry out a series of functional tests tomorrow, Tuesday, 8 September 2026. To ensure the safety of all equipment in the data centre, all HPC services will be shut down starting at 08:00, including the Frascati AFS file servers. Consequently, USER HOME directories hosted in Frascati will be unavailable. Once the work has been completed, which is expected to happen within the day, the HPC services will be gradually restored.
